This Software License Agreement (“Agreement”) is between you (“you” or “your”) and Human Machines (“Human Machines,” “we,” or “us”). It applies to HM01 - Vault, including the desktop application, the installed Ableton Live remote script, documentation, and updates (collectively, the “Software”).
1. Acceptance
By purchasing, downloading, installing, activating, or using the Software, you agree to this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Software.
2. License grant
After successful payment and subject to this Agreement, Human Machines grants the purchaser a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-sublicensable, and non-transferable license to install and use the Software for music production and related personal or professional creative work. The license is perpetual and does not expire solely because time has passed.
3. Activations
The purchaser may maintain up to three active device activations at a time on devices they own or control. You may deactivate a device when replacing or retiring it, subject to the technical license system.
4. Restrictions
Except where applicable law gives you a right that cannot be excluded, you may not:
- share, transfer, sublicense, rent, lend, or redistribute the Software or license key;
- copy, publish, or sell the Software or license key;
- circumvent, disable, or interfere with license activation or validation;
- reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or create derivative works from the Software; or
- use the Software to provide a hosted, shared, or commercial service to third parties.
5. Ownership
The Software is licensed, not sold. Human Machines and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in the Software, its interface, documentation, and branding. You retain all rights in your own audio, Ableton Sets, samples, presets, and other content that you access or organize with the Software.
6. Ableton Live and third parties
The Software requires Ableton Live or related Ableton components for some functionality. Ableton Live is supplied by Ableton AG under its own terms. Human Machines is independent from and not endorsed by Ableton AG. “Ableton” and “Live” are trademarks of Ableton AG. Third-party libraries and assets included with the Software may have separate terms listed in the Software’s third-party notices.
7. Updates and compatibility
Updates released for the Software are provided at no additional charge. They may add, change, or remove features; require newer operating-system or Ableton Live versions; or stop supporting older systems and third-party configurations. Human Machines may stop releasing updates in the future.
8. Privacy and license checks
License activation and periodic validation are described in the Privacy Policy. Vault does not use audio, Ableton Sets, library paths, crates, spaces, or browser-index content as license-validation data.
9. Termination
This Agreement continues for as long as you use the Software. Human Machines may terminate the license if you materially breach this Agreement, including by sharing or redistributing the Software or bypassing activation. On termination, you must stop using and delete the Software, subject to any rights that cannot legally be terminated.
10. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Software is provided without a promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every system, Ableton Live version, plugin, driver, or library. We will provide reasonable support for supported configurations through support@humanmachines.xyz.
11. Liability and consumer rights
Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability or consumer rights that cannot legally be excluded or limited. Subject to that restriction, Human Machines is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the Software.
